Scholarship for Students with Disabilities (Divyangjan) for the year 2022-23
Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities provides an opportunity to Students with Disabilities (Divyagjan) for availing scholarship under the schemes viz. Pre-matric, Post-matric, Top Class Education and National Overseas Scholarship for the year 2022-23.
Last date for submission of online applications on National Pre-Matric Scholarship Scholarship Portal for Fresh scholarship (first time applicants) and renewal scholarship (applicants who got Post Matric Scholarship 31.10.2022 scholarships in the year 2021-22)
Last Date For Pre-Matric Scholarship: 30.09.2022
Last Date For Post Matric Scholarship & Top Class Scholarship: 31.10.2022
Instructions for applicants:
i) Applicants are advised to apply online for Pre-Matric, Post Matric and Top Class Education Schemes on the website of National Scholarship Portal at www.scholarships.gov.in (a link to the site is also available at www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in) or Mobile App of National Scholarship Portal. Applications for National Overseas Scholarship scheme are received offline.
(i) Details of the schemes including instructions for filling up the applications are available at www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in.
(ii) Applicants are advised to provide correct information while applying for scholarships.
Timeline for applications
i) Applications for National Overseas Scholarship are received offline throughout the year.
(ii) National Scholarship Portal is open for students’ registration for applying for the scholarship schemes as per details below: Last date for submission of online applications on National Pre-Matric Scholarship Scholarship Portal for Fresh scholarship (first time applicants) and renewal scholarship (applicants who got Post Matric Scholarship 31.10.2022 scholarships in the year 2021-22) 30.09.2022
Eligibility criteria:
i. Scholarships are open for Nationals of India
ii. A person with benchmark disability Le. having not less than 40% disability, and having a disability certificate issued by the competent medical authority.
iii. Not more than two disabled children of the same parents will be entitled to receive benefits of the scheme. In case if the second child is a twin, the scholarship under these schemes will be admissible to both twins.
iv. Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, he/she would not get scholarship for a second (or a subsequent) year.
v. A scholarship holder under these schemes will not hold any other scholarship/stipend. If awarded any other scholarship/stipend, the student can exercise his/her option for either of the two scholarships/stipends, which is more beneficial to him/her and should inform the awarding authority through the Head of the Institution about the option exercised.
vi. For National Overseas Scholarship, applicant should have 55% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Master’s Degree (for Ph.D.) and relevant Bachelor’s Degree (for Master’s Degree).
