The University Grants Commission (UGC) has provided details regarding the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-2023 to all central universities, including Allahabad University (AU). The CUET exam, which will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will be the basis for admission to undergraduate courses at AU and its constituent colleges.

CUET- UG 2023 scheme of marks

The UGC has outlined the scheme of marks to be awarded for each correct answer and the penalty for wrong answers. Five marks will be awarded for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. The exam will consist of three sections: language, an optional subject, and general knowledge.

CUET-2023 Exam Pattern

The language section will have 50 questions, out of which the candidate must answer 40 within 45 minutes. The optional subject section will have 50 questions, and the candidate must answer 40 within 45 minutes. The general knowledge section will have 60 questions, and the candidate must answer 50 within an hour.

If there are multiple correct options for a question, the candidate will receive one mark only. If a question is found to be incorrect and is dropped after the exam, every candidate who attempted that question will receive five marks.

The exam will be conducted online in 34 cities across India from May 21 to May 31, with June 1 to June 7 reserved as backup dates. The city of the examination center will be announced on April 30. For the first time, admission to eight professional courses, including BVoc (media production) and BA (media studies), will be done through CUET.
